All politician do it and holler when their opponents do the same. The NRA will support whoever is the GOP nominee and it won't be Jindal.
2. Why can't the marines guard marines and navy guard navy and so on, why does the national guard have to do it?
You would think they could but they won't station armed guards at strip mall recruiting offices
Do all the armed service branches have their own police? That's a real question I have no clue what the answer is.
Yes. They call them MPs for Military Police

I didn't know if Military Police was singular to one branch. So every branch has its own MP's?

I'm sure an Army MP can arrest a Navy man and vice versa. I've seen movies where there are brawls in nightclubs between members of different branches of the service.

You are such an fool. How can anybody take you seriously when you spew political crap like this.

No it doesn't. It only affects those who are unable to manage their own affairs due to "marked subnormal intelligence, or mental illness, incompetency, condition, or disease." It doesn't affect someone who simply has an authorized power of attorney. That's a lie and just another Anti-Obama scare tactic.

Exactly! Why any rational person would object to better efforts to keep guns out of the hands of children, addicts, felons, illegal aliens, and fucking crazy people is beyond me. Why should Social Security status keep them from having a background check run? It doesn't mean that they will be denied, just that they will be checked!

Can you imagine a 35-year old mentally ill person on Social Security disability shooting up a place? Yeah, didn't think of that did you? Can you imagine someone taking advantage of a 90-year-old with Alzheimers and stealing his guns to use in a crime? If somebody does not have the mental capacity to be responsible for their firearms, they should not be possessing firearms.

Jindal can order the National Guard to secure National Guard bases. He has zero authority of the US military and cannot do anything on federal bases. There are also strict limits as to what he can do with the National Guard. The Posse Comitatus act prohibits US military personnel from acting in the role of law enforcement.

Yet another example of how our political system has gone off the tracks and how Jindal has sold his soul to climb the political ladder as far as he can. He stopped being our governor at least 3 years ago. A smart outsider with new ideas found out how the system works and drank the kool-aid. I'd vote for Vladimir Putin before Jindal, at least Putin has balls enough stand up for what he truly believes in.

I know he has the authority to order the national guard in Lousiana, what I don't get is why the military just wouldn't guard themselves. Don't MP's already do that? And even then, if we are talking about recruiting offices, do we really want to put armed national guard at strip malls and places where those offices are?

The whole idea from Jindal just screams politics. Jindal is fishing for a billionaire to donate money to him, all the big dogs have them.
