Sep Blatter said the vuvuzellas would stay. They actually don't bother me at all for some reason but they drive my wife up the wall.

Sounds like the games are being played in a beehive...

Switzerland Beats Spain (and other WC matches)

In the first major upset of the world cup, the Swiss played a heavy defensive game, and came away with a 1 - 0 victory over the tournament favorite Spanish national team. Great game!!!

I picked Spain to potentially win it all, that is an upset a major one.

yeah me too, MM. They did not look that comfortable in the attacking third.

The Swiss are neutral, but they have one hell of a good defense.

I'm glad you said it was an upset. I wouldn't have known.

The Swiss did clamp down on Spain on defense. They played a patient game and came away with the victory. They may not have the most talented players, but they are organized and disciplined.

You are not kidding. You know watching Spain, they were in the Swiss half of the field most of the game, came up short a few times, hit the crossbar once, but that team looks nothing like Brazil. Brazil is the most technically gifted team i have seen in this cup, their precision passing is amazing, they can do more with their feet what most college quarterbacks can do with their throwing arm, amazing. This is Brazil's cup to lose.

I don't know. now that the first set of games are over, i think the best overall performance so far was Germany. That Ger/Aus game could have ended 8-0 easily. Brazil has crazy talent, but as a team they showed some flaws. There Germans we just complete all the way around.

Unfortunately I don't want either Germany or Brazil anywhere near the finals.
