Never in my life have I seen anything like that. Suarez did what he had to do. Hell the other guy was trying to grab the ball too. And then the guy misses the pk.....wow!
Another reason for me not to like soccer. That should be cheating if there was going to be a goal and the player blatently hits it out of the way and isn't a goalie. They should give them the goal, and then the penalty kick. In basketball that's a technical foul, you get 2 shots and the ball. In football, I think the rule is that if a player is going to score a TD and someone runs onto the field and tackles them that isn't supposed to, the referee can rule it a touchdown as if it were going to happen. I've never actually seen that football situation take place, but I've asked about it and I think that's the answer I got.
Right, because no one ever intentionally breaks a rule in any other game. They gave Ghana a free kick from 12 yards away. Their fault if they can't score from there.
In basketball the opposition still has to make the free throws to score. As far as the football reference, no one that wasn't in the match came in to make a play. It's not cheating, it's just against the rules, and there are penalties in place for that if it happens. Ghana has no one to blame but themselves for losing that match. If you are driving to the basket by yourself on a breakaway, and i run behind you and intentionally foul you, you get free throws, its the same exact thing, a free throw is basically a penalty shot. If you couldn't enjoy that, you are either a Ghanean fan, or have no pulse.
