good lord John are you really this phucking dense? Did you have fun looking that up on wikipedia?

I never said Ghana was bad, so don't put words in my mouth. In fact I think Ghana was quite good and played very well against the US. What i said was African players on average do not have the skill yet with the ball at their feet while under-pressure.

Where in any of my posts this entire tournament did i say that I hate the US. Let me help you, you won't find it. You are phucking delusion. Challenging the coaches decisions is not hating on the team. Learn to read.

what? how are they the greatest if they are behind someone else?

Regardless of how good Ghana was, USA still had opportunities to win and didn't take advantage. That's what gets me, like Krypto said before, bad coaching brought us down early. But also, watching the USA play...the passing isn't as crisp and and we don't have as many playmakers near the goal. Seems like they are content with just kicking the ball straight at the goalie and sending crosses into the middle regardless of who's in there. But a lot of teams have been like that and I'm still proud of the US for playing strong and getting me excited. And yes, John is delusional

I agree, they had their chances. To me, like Krypto said, playing Clark was a mistake, also starting Findley was a mistake. Also leaving Charlie Davies off the team was a mistake, he could have played a major role coming off the bench late in games.

It sucks because it is not likely Landon Donovan will be back for the next world cup, unless he pulls a Dooley. Hopefully us going into the elimination round will give this sport some more ammunition in the States.

That is such an iconic kit. Kinda like the blue and white striped Argentina team.

One of my big complaints with US soccer as a whole, especially MLS, is that they don't do enough instruction about moving diagonally off of the ball and into space. Too much of the off the ball runs are straight up and down the field. That does not make enough space. Hopefully the new MLS academies will start hammering that point home at a young age and it becomes 2nd nature.

We need to start making it worth it to soccer players to stay here and play for the United States instead of playing for their home team. If they have US citizenship, we should be doing everything we can to convince them to play for us!!!

ESPN talking heads made exactly that comment in the aftermath of the phantom foul on the goal during US/Slovenia. "FIFA likes the controversy."
