With Florida, Alabama and Texas winning this week, it is now official that USC's annual choke job (this time vs Oregon State) will once again prevent them from playing in the NC.

More good news for Tiger fans.

    Enjoy!

If for some reason Florida should lose to Alabama (I don't think that will happen) I would like to see UF play USC in the Sugar. That would probably be the marquee matchup. I think the Sugar has first choice after the NCG.

I'd hate to do it but Geaux Gators if that happens.

    Not so fast...

If TTU is able to pull it out against Baylor (which it looks like they might), then it all lies on two games:

OU at OSU, and Big XII South vs. Mizzou.

To keep USC or PSU out for sure, OU needs to win at OSU, and the Big XII South winner needs to win against Mizzou.

If OSU wins tonight, TTU goes to the Big XII title game....and after last week's debacle, there is no way TTU goes to the BCSNCG.

That would leave the question...should a team who didn't even win their division in their conference go to the national title game? (Texas) Last year showed that this was a very unpopular line of thinking, which allowed LSU to go over Jawja.

I did a writeup on the matchups last week.

Fiesta has first dibs, then the Sugar.

Fiesta will have a Big 12 vs USC matchup.

Loser of Bama/Florida will end up playing Utah, unfortunately.

Well not for Bama. They will lose to Utah, easily. So yeah, unfortunate for either Florida or Bama (lol).

NC: Bama/Florida winner vs Big 12 something or other
Rose: Oregon State/USC vs Penn State
Fiesta: USC/Ohio State vs Big 12 team that got phucked
    Sugar: Bama/Florida loser vs Utah
ACC: Big East winner vs ACC winner (egad!)

Ohio State is pulling for Oregon tonight. They get in if USC goes to the Rose. There are no other choices.

Georgia also had a blowout loss help make that decision a LOT easier.

That would be soooo appealing. LOL. See Bama drop the two most important games of the season... Maybe Saban will head to UT or MSU running from humility.

I understand your line of thinking, but voters will feel compelled to vote for Texas, because they would be considered to be screwed out of their chance at the Big 12 title.

Ironically the same BCS that keeps Texas out of the Big 12 will vault them into the NC.

That, my friend, is the definition of irony.

In addition, LSU was in the same conference as Georgia, so that was logical thinking last year.

These are two different conferences, and there could not be more of a disparity in the talent level than between the Big 12 and the PAC-10 this season. Like night and day.

In your scenario, Texas would still hold a huge advantage over USC in the computer polls. USC would have to be voted a pretty solid #2 over Texas. Anybody see that happening?

PSulions, I assume if Oregon State wins, you would drop that scenario as a possibility?

I honestly don't see how the Pac10 could complain... imo they should be lucky to even be allowed in the Rose Bowl let alone any other... everyone has whooped up on the pac this season. Talk about a confernece with no identity let alone any respect.

    Except fat fill. lol.

I think the four best teams right now are Florida, Texas, Oklahoma, USC. Would be great to see any two meet up in two different bowl games. Would be even greater to see Florida gash them but that aint happening.

What the hell is wrong with me not being able to put Bama in the top four? I think they're a very good team but lack depth to go against those four and they did take us to overtime on a "bad" year. Can't see us hanging with any of those four this year but lookout in two- we're going to play in the National Championship game and win our fourth title.
