Howard has struggled all of the post season.

Kazmir is a master at getting in and out of trouble. Same thing for the Rays bullpen. Thus the high number of men left on base.

I know he's struggled but you would think the hitting machine he's been the last couple years would finally break out. He looked like an idiot on his strike outs.

No doubt the Rays pitching had much to do with keeping all those potential runs from scoring. The series could go either way now with Philly winning game one.

I watched the game last night and was pretty much ho-hum about it knowing that this was Phillies game to lose. Of course, if the Rays had won, the series was over. But with the Phillies winning, I still have the Rays winning in 6. I think Hamels will win his 2 games and that will be all the Phils get.

Look for the Phils to go to Hamels in game 4 if they go down 2-1.

Tonight is a must win for the Rays. I see the pitching match up as a close one, almost a wash. Neither is brilliant but both are capable. Last night came down to dominating pitching, tonight it should come down to bats with the Rays "seemingly" having an advantage in that department. That all changes if Longoria and Upton struggle and Howard starts to hit. I think this series is a lot closer than many originally thought.

actually vegas would have had phili as the favorite but in order to hedge their future bets pending (some as high as 200:1), they have to protect themselves by getting money on the other side. shields is one tough mofo at home although I worry the phili heart of the order is due to bust out.

looks like utley busted out as i thought. a homer, a walk to get to howard, a hit and a couple stolen bases.

if hes hot he can carry this team.

    That's a negative.

Decided advantage goes to Shields. Magnificent at home. Myers is all over the map and inconsistent.

Myers has been a lot better since the all-star break but Shields is tough at home for sure. I still think its a close match up, we'll see.

No doubt Myers might shine tonite. Then again, he might give up 8 runs in 3 innings.

And this is why they play the game instead of deciding it based on our pontification. :thumb:
