DAMN Pod!!!! I forgot allll about this game. I was thinking that today was Friday. No work and no school can do strange things to your mind. Shucks. Oh well, glad the Tigers continued to dominate!

Not sure what to even say. This is starting to look too easy. I'm sure when CTJ thought he'd set up the schedule this way, even he wasn't expecting this much of a beat down. The team's definitely confident going into these SWAC games. Now, you wonder what will happen when they match up against a BCS conference.

No matter, it's good to see them looking sharp. :geauxtige

It was really nice to see Terry Martin have a good game. He was very smart and patient with his shot opportunities tonight. Big improvement.

Nice to see so many guys get so much PT and STILL win by 46. Ten fellas had 13 minutes or more and noone had over 22. Thornton high scorer with 18 in a 46 point drubbing.

Seems to me the ability to produce from the bench is going to be a key to this team's success this year.

Now let's see how they handle some serious competition.

I thought that they looked really good against Fullerton, but who knows how good CSF really is? I know they were pretty good last season, so that's a good sign. I guess we'll see against aTm how this team plays on the road. Then we have Washington St. and UL. Then Utah on the road may be a toughie, but I think that's a good prep for Bama to start conference play. The WSU game will be a real test as they've already faced Baylor, Gonzaga and Pitt. Three ranked teams, three losses for them. But we get them at home. Utah was on TV last night against OU. The Sooners are ranked 5th in the country and Utah held their own. They also held Blake Griffin in check. Playing in their place might be tough, but I think we'll head into conference play 13-1 and ranked in the top 25. Not too bad, eh?

    nice performance

had to check up on grambling, though. pomeroy ranks them 343 out of 344. he also ranks LSU's SOS to date 344 out of 344.

the team should have enough veteran players not to get too rattled when they finally play a good team and get lit up.

Thanks for that! I was figuring that LSU's SOS had to be somewhere near the bottom, but not last. I mean come on. What about the teams we've beaten? It'll move up fast once we play WSU and Utah.

Yeah, it's funny how it works. Based upon the computers and different methodologies, LSU is ranked in the 40s (Pomeroy) all the way down in the mid 100s (true RPI). But, the season has a way of just playing out sometimes to your advantage or disadvantage as the schools you play play out their season. When Trent scheduled this schedule, he probably wanted some softies to implement his system. Cal-State Fullerton was a NCAA team last year, and some of the LA schools just are looking pretty bad this year (plus many of them were likely already booked from the Brady era).

Hopefully by SEC season, the RPI will be modestly better. Washington State looks to be less of a boon now, but Texas A&M, Utah and Xavier are all decent tests. But, make no bones about it, this has always been a schedule about how LSU does in the SEC. Whereas LSU in past years might have snuck into the dance with a .500 SEC record, they may need to have a good solid winning record in the SEC to get there this year. So far, it seems like that's a possibility, if they continue to play as hard as they have been.
