    Quote from another article...

    Full Article

LSU at 10-2 clearly deserves a Rose Bowl bid over 10-2 Notre Dame. The Tigers have wins at No. 8 Tennessee and at No. 5 Arkansas this month. The Fighting Irish's only win over a ranked team was 14-10 over Georgia Tech way back in the season opener. Tech just got beat by SEC also-ran Georgia. Recently, all the Irish have done is handle the Pentagon teams, and that was when Rumsfeld was still calling the plays.

LSU has also never played Michigan. It would be an interesting game for both sides. There is that connection of LSU coach Les Miles to the late Michigan coach Bo Schembechler, too, though no one on the national scene seems to be aware of this. And by the way, did you know that JaMarcus Russell can throw the ball 60 yards on one knee while pinning Brady Quinn with the other?

For the record, I'm usually not really fond of Glenn Gilbeau, but that last line in bold cracked me up and I had to share...

PS - Hey Brett... since we have an official Rose Bowl thread I think we need some rose-type smilies..

It looks like he is doing his vaudeville act.

    Kind creepy, really.

This thread will top the 10,000 mark should everything pan out.

I am trying to remember if we had a thread with 10,000 views and I think we had with the 2003 BCS battle between LSU and USC.

I predict this one is the first to top the 20,000 mark.

You are probably right... I wasnt on TF for the 2003 NC game to experience that. Even after the announcement on Sunday, we still have almost a month for this thread to continue to run up!

It was awesome. Before the NCG, I participated sparingly at a different LSU board. Hell, I can't even remember it's name. But the BCS run brought me here. I needed to find a place where a lot of talk was going on. This was the place, and I have been here ever since. I think you will enjoy the run up to our BCS bowl, which will be all the better if it is the Rose. It's the uniqueness of it for us that will compare favorably to the BCS title run 3 years ago. Enjoy. :thumb:

Thinking about ordering tickets but not sure if I'll be able to make it to the game. If that's the case, I should be able to sell them on the net and get my $$$ back, don't ya think?

Now that's funny, but I still don't like Gilbeau.
