Even on passing plays you see the Tackles doing their jobs but the interior giving up too much ground and shrinking the pocket.

We either have to get some push or use more misdirection and use the pass to open up the run. Shep consistently ran up the middle with ease when he got reps so it can be worked out.

I think we had 3 or 4 batted down passes.

Shep shows he can play in this league. Jefferson had a decent to good game, I didnt think he did all that great in the 4th quarter, possibly due to protection. What are our alternatives at both guards?

Also our safety play was hit and miss today. Taylor and Hatcher cheating on those pass plays really hurt. Moo U also was able to run the ball up the middle is that on our DTs and middle linebacker or is Dixon that good?

Our corners played really well today, each with a pick. Linebacker play was spotty at best until the last drive. D-line still not getting alot of push, but id take the batted balls everyday of the week.

It was nice to watch Shep "glide" through the cracks in the defense; he was fast, smooth and elusive. His decisions for making any moves always seem to be 0.25 secs ahead of defense's reaction; great instinctive runner:thumb:

The batted down balls were always nice stops.... Seems like they hadn't been doing much of that since the days of Marcus Spears, until this season.

Dixon is that good and has been for 3 years now but we could have done better stacking the box and containing him.

I am giving JJ an A because another road game with poor conditions and he lead his team with confidence and composure. Proved the doubters wrong with the deep ball and was the leader on offense overall. Not bad for his 6th game. He has a nice future ahead of him if he keeps it up.

Last week v. USL we had a goal line stand.

One thing about the batted passes, our D line isn't getting a good push with enough pressure on the QB. Most of these bats are coming from our D line stuck on the line of scrimmage. Good thing they're tall and the QB was short.

We have a bye week next week and I will be at a flyball tournament with my dog the following week for Florida/LSU (I will be watching the game somewhere in the boondocks of Florida) so stay healthy and good luck in case I don't get to pop back in!
