Okay, we're on the same page now. Thanks. Like I said, it's not a term I use referring to football.

Crazy stat on Evans: He has more receiving yards this season than 35 of the FBS teams.

I found some of JFF scrambles to be amazing. But I felt that if he just throws the ball at Evans like he was doing eventually that will catch up to him. I was surprised he only had two interceptions. Its a great combo for sure, but I felt that there was to much luck involved in its success. Teams will spy off of that combo, I guess he can always tuck it and run in those plays. If they had any D at all...

Hell yes, it was. I can think of one in particular...the play where the bama defender tried to tackle him by his jersey in the backfield and he managed to escape and then just heaved the ball up in the air over the middle of the field. I thought for sure that it was going to get intercepted, but somehow, his receiver came down with it. That play was a turning point in the game for me. Going into it, I really didn't care who won. Both teams can go pound sand as far as I'm concerned, and we have to play them both, so it really didn't matter. But hearing Verne jizz his pants after the play and then watching Womanziel's subsequent reaction to it tipped me towards the side of wanting aTm to lose (notice I didn't say "bama to win"). Johnny was pumping his fists and smiling and looked-up to the sky with this arrogant-ass look on his face that just said "This is just too easy!". Oh, how I wanted to punch him at that very moment. Stupid little prick should have been counting his blessings. Then, of course, Verne has to continue on and on, saying crap like "Well that's one that we'll be seeing over and over if the Heisman talk gets going". I was so happy when he threw that terrible interception in the end zone later in that drive. I even laughed a bit when Sunseri juked the shit out of Womanziel on that pick-6.

I'm late to the party, but Saban and his DC seem to have a real hard time with this kind of offense. A&M has punched their defense in the mouth twice. We can try to explain it all away, and I can think of some good reasons to do that, but at the end of the day, the result is what it is. Miles and Chavis have done a better job so far with these offenses (Oregon and A&M). I'm not seeing it yet from Bama. I'm not surprised that the Oregon student section was cheering for a match up with Bama. lol. I think Bama might still win that matchup, but the game would be a lot closer than ours was with Oregon.

I hate to say this, but, Oregon looks like the #1 team right now. If Oregon/Bama does run the table and makes in to the BCS, I think Bama loses that match up. aTm's uptempo gave Bama fits, and Oregons uptempo makes aTms look terribly slow. The gumps will be sucking wind by the half.

We'll have to see about that. It's early in the season. A lot of people thought Oregon's offense would run all over us in that opener a few seasons ago. Didn't happen. Oregon's big problem has been and still is (until proven otherwise) dealing with a stout defense across the LOS from them. Bama's defense has holes in it, which gives me hope as an LSU fan that we might contend this year (when I thought it might have to wait until our D was retooled). Both Bama and LSU will be tested this season as we go through the schedule. Will Oregon? This is another one of their downfalls. To their credit, at least one Oregon fan told me that he wouldn't be satisfied with a title right now unless it came against an SEC school. I admire that kind of passion. That's the right way. A lot of ND fans, by contrast, wanted to run and hide from Bama last year. :)

Oregon's fundamental problem is that they pretty much have to be screaming downhill at breakneck speed to be successful. If the opposing defense puts any kink in their approach whatsoever, they get stifled and can't adjust. This is what happened to them against Stanford last year. Stanford just put one tiny glitch in their gameplan, and they were screwed. They couldn't get physical upfront with the Cardinal, and lost the game as a result. They simply can't grind it out when they need to. They have to turn it into a track meet or they're defeated. We did the same thing to them, but we also surprised the hell out of them with our speed upfront.

This I exactly right. Oregon's record of facing a tough physical defense in their modern era is very poor. This is why I see Stanford as possibly being their only regular season test this year. An Oregon fan I know would like to play tougher competition as some of them are tired of these lopsided "wins" only to lose against more physical teams. But when you are way out on the upper west coast in an area not well known for physical football, currently, it's hard to find that kind of competition.

Now, see, this is when I decided that I could not stand to see douchebag Manziel win.
