Very strange. Rivals confirms Jahkeem Stewart, the #1 rated player in this class, has transferred from St. Aug to Edna Karr, where he will be ineligible to play this fall.
According to Dandy Don, by transferring to Karr he can graduate in Dec. which St. Aug. would not let him do.
That’s better than an alternative theory I’m hearing, which is USC‘s defensive line coach is a Karr alum and this gives them better access to Stewart.
He has reclassified to 2025, and still is a heavy lean to LSU. Ranked #14 overall and knocks Berry off the top of the state class in on3.com, 247sports has him as a 4-star, 55th in nation, 2nd in LA behind Berry.
Updating these in-state rankings (according to on3) one year out from early signing day **. Jahkeem Stewart, DL, St. Aug, 5 star, reclassified to 2025 and signed with USC 1. Lamar Brown, IOL, UHigh, 5 star, LSU 99% over Bama 2. Blaine Bradford, S, Catholic BR, 4 star, LSU 96% over Bama(LSU made a late push and signed his brother Jacob in the '25 class) 3. Aiden Hall, S, Edna Karr, 4 star, LSU commit 4. Richard Anderson, DL, Edna Karr, 4 star, LSU commit 5. Brysten Martinez, OT, East Ascension, 4 star, LSU 77% over Grambling 6. Jabari Mack, WR, Destrehan, 4 star, LSU 92% over cowbells 7. Dylan Berymon, DL, Ouachita, 5 star, LSU 99% over Grambling 8. Darryus McKinley, DL, Acadiana, 4 star, LSU 98% over A&M (Dominick's little brother? IDK) 9. Jakai Anderson, WR, McDonogh 35, 4 star, LSU commit 10. Kenny Darby, WR, (Bossier City) Airline, 4 star, LSU commit 11. Alvin Celestin, ATH, Terrebonne, 4 star, no early interest in LSU, Troy and GaTech are leaders
LSU's two Edna Karr HS commits, Anderson and Hall, played really well in the state championship game. One writer on X described Anderson as "unblockable."
