https://www.nola.com/sports/lsu/fou...cle_e0590188-8279-11ee-bac4-bb5f473f2ea4.html We need CBs badly, and really good ones have a chance to come in and play right away. Yet we continue to lose potential recruits. Are they turned off by the general direction of the defense (DC) or by the position coach?
My opinion is backed by no inside info, but I'd guess its a little of both. We've got 7 4-star commitments on the defensive side of the ball right now, but only one at not only a clear position of need, but a position in which we're historically an NFL factory. I'm guessing Robert Steeples is getting raked over the coals by our recruit competition.
Hard to say, both of these guys were out of state and I have to think staying close to home came into play. Guess we see who they eventually sign with. I am a 100% believer in signing kids where the LSU brand means something to them. They will always play harder. Just my .02 So if we take a 3 star from Carencro over a 4 or 5 from some kid 3 or 4 states away that only cares about himself then I'm good with that every damn time! BK needs to go find those kids!
JUCO DT Shone Washington commits. Nola product committed to Georgia out of HS and spent one year there. On3 ranks him the 5th best Juco DT and 29th Juco product overall.
None of the major services are reporting this one yet, but Yardbarker.com says Antonio Alfano is committed to LSU. Edge rusher, was 247’s number one prospect in the country in the class of ‘19, signed with Bama, played one year and then went JUCO. He’s 247’s number 3 JUCO prospect. Near as I can figure, he has two years of eligibility left.
