If the staff isn't satisfied with competition to go up against Brennan, then we may try to add someone. This would be the guy.
Agreed the two kids we got were huge and maybe I should have included them on the positives of the day that occurred. Van Pran being so vehement about going out of state, I don't see where that's changed. Hopefully I'm wrong.

The only thing that still troubles me is we turned away promising Louisiana kids to attract these dudes. That was a huge mistake, I trust eaux will not make again.
That isn't exactly true though that's an easy narrative floating around. The two Louisiana kids weren't turned away specifically to land guys we didn't land. They were decisions you make in recruiting. Will they play? Are they better than what you have and are signing and already have? How was their senior film?
I'm not a recruiting guru and don't claim to be so I will just use the ol sniff test to add my .02 If these guys were committed since they were Jrs, hell even if it was the start of their Sr yr but I'm betting they were on board long before that then your statement doesn't hold water. Why offer a scholly if they can't play? If you don't think they will play? If they don't have what it takes? To say Sr year film or "based on what we already have" is a bunch of bullshit. Not you, but the staff. If I were that kid or more importantly that kids parents as well as HS coach he just burnt a bridge that can't be rebuilt. It's a sleazy nick fucking Saban game and I would certainly hope we are above that. I personally think O got a little too full of himself, read too many of the articles and it bit him square in the ass. Say what you will but we offered these guys for a reason, we then did them really dirty and I'm not sure how long it takes to recover.
