Watching the Super Bowl with a few coaches now, just checking in.

I got a big tab, and I like to use it.

Eye dad and I were discussing Eye's post about Sonny and Shea putting in their crystal ball picks on Weathersby to LSU. Other boards were erasing threads about it for a reason and I followed suit. However, the Arkansas boards now know about it too so it is fair game.

LSU is looking good and now in a numbers game. :)

I 100% understand your hesitation but the classic answer back is a secret isn't worth much when a ton of crystal balls on 24/7 like Sonny and Shea (LSU guys), the Ole Miss insider, the Arkansas insider, and everyone else is now picking LSU for Weathersby. That is also what is happening for Leo Lewis and also what is happening for Arden Key. No one anymore of the new picks is picking any school other than LSU for Weathersby, Leo Lewis, or Arden Key. I was just about 100% sure about LSU for Key 2+ weeks ago after seeing his Fox Sports interview...before he even visited LSU. I was pretty close to sure for Lewis IF he visited LSU which he did. And I thought LSU was the leader for Weathersby all along but I admit when LSU got the verbal from OVC (not expected by me), that sort of threw me for a loop. But what is the common thread with all these guys? Obviously, it is very, very early playing time! That is also one reason I predict CeCe Jefferson to LSU also. Plus, a guy doesn't schedule a visit to a school near the very end of the process...as Jefferson did...just to see the LA state capitol building. This is playing out eeriely similar to the T Bowers recruitment of 2 years ago. Remember....everyone said Auburn or Florida....mainly the Gators. Hope it turns out the same.

Did Justin Reid's visit go as scheduled?

That is why I went ahead and mentioned it again bevause those other picks weren't in yet, It happened fast but I didn't have a way to reverse the deleted post.

Key on his visit to LSU told the staff his intentions to commit to LSU. That is what I heard then and felt good about him. After he cancelled the Auburn visit I considered it as close to a lock as it could be.

Bower was my surprise pick that year. I had a guy near the staff telling me it was done about 2 weeks before signing day.

It did but we have numbers to play with now.

I see Dillion, Weathersby, Key all to LSU, very confident at this time. That leaves 3 spots to the 25. Lewis, CeCe, Gibson, Prince Tega, Reid, Moreau, Assuie Punter are all in play and probably someone we aren't talking about much anymore.

However, last I heard we can count 2 early enrollees back to last year's class. Not sure if the staff will or not. Next few days will be interesting to see how the numbers play out.

Punter could be a grayshirt last I heard. Not sure Reid would take one with a Stanford offer. He could be close to his bro if goes there too.

There are two kinds of coaches. Coaches who have been fired and coaches who will be fired. You can't use being fired against a coach as a negative. They all get fired, even Vince Lombardi, Nick Saban, etc.

For some reason, I'm not "feeling Gibson" and never have. :) The same for Reid who I sort of had pegged for Stanford (not really OU). Really, the guy I missed on was Peters, although I did always leave some wiggle room. For him and Lewis and Jefferson, I said "if they visit". Well, Peters didn't visit so LSU is out of it. I think Moreau will probably go to Tulane. So by my numbers to 25, only 1 remains (Key, Dillon, Weathersby, Jefferson, and Lewis). I'm totally throwing a dart and saying either Prince Tega or Growden. To be honest, Arthur McGinnis the LBer would have been one I would like to have seen but my favorite coach :p Chavis screwed that up! I think Steele would have signed McGinnis but too late now.

Follow me a little closer here. You should know me better than that. I'm far from being one thats been on Cam case.

I was watching the Super Bowl tonight with a coach that has been fired 4 times.

Look at RC son, Shawn Slocum about being fired. A player makes the mistake, the coach gets fired.

Yeah, I brought up the same point as MLUTiger did but this next year is crucial for Cameron. Remember a guy named Gary Crowton? ;) The knocks on him were 1) he could not develop a QB not already polished and 2) his offenses got stale. Well, Cameron has a reputation for pro QBs but he needs to do better with Jennings and Harris. Also, sorry, but Studrawa's offense isn't good enough for me. I don't even necessarily mean a lot more passing...but if you are going to run it 67% of the time, misdirection plays are needed. I only saw them in 1 LSU game this year...A&M. I swear I thought Stud was back and Cameron had left LSU...same offense!
