Elite offensive tackle commits to LSU JON COOPER January 29, 2015 @ 9:52am One of the country’s most elite uncommitted prospects, offensive tackle Chidi Valentine-Okeke, is no longer on the market. Valentine-Okeke unexpectedly committed to LSU Thursday, and he chose the Tigers over Alabama, Auburn and his home state Georgia Bulldogs. He’s ranked as the No. 22 overall player and the No. 2 offensive tackle by 247Sports, but the composite rankings have him as the 102nd overall player and No. 5 offensive tackle. Regardless, LSU’s dominance along the line of scrimmage has been a staple during the Les Miles era. LSU lost elite offensive tackle La’El Collins, but what better way to fill the hole than to land one of the best offensive linemen in the country.
1. Alabama = 93.64 2. USC = 92.36 3. FSU = 91.96 4. LSU = 91.03 5. Ohio State = 90.35 6. UCLA = 90.31 7. Georgia = 90.10 8. Tennessee = 89.97
247sports is projecting LSU to finish 12th, but that was not counting the highly ranked OT we just landed. Projecting that player into the mix puts LSU into the fight for spots 6 through 10 (all tightly bunched in terms of projected finish by 247).
LSU is doing well this year, they had some catching up to do and did well. This staff is closing well. They are also working hard with their Jr list. Gonna be fun to see with one year under their belt.
Guess we'll see real soon, like say the 4th or a little after? As for the DL, you have a number of players on the roster, couldn't have missed on that many. Guess the O is gonna have to light that fire.
