I know what you're getting at but....this is an elite class as well. PJ, Toliver (if he qualifies), Benton, and Aghayere are going to be studs.
Hope you're not serious. I would say that I like Brandon Taylor the most, Johnson and Baker should play next year. I will reserve my judgment on Benton till he qualifies.
It has lots of potential..there are more 'raw' players in this class than last year's (jefferson, hagans, l. edwards, peterson, shaw, hurst, etc). These are mostly all players with big talent, that didn't get looked at by some of the home state schools because they weren't as advanced as others. It's the perfect class to bring in when you follow a record 4*+ class that redshirted.
Class - Very impressed with the out-of-state gets, just a tinge of "wtf?" on the LBs and RBs. Favorite - PJ, for no other reason than a 5-star CB (following the loss of two senior CBs with unproven backups) makes me smile. Quick Impact: PJ or DB - though PJ probably has the shortest row to hoe. Most Underrated: Theriot. Something tells me that a big kid who can play QB and be recruited as a LB will develop into a special player. My guess is that he becomes what some had hoped Luke Sanders would become. (Don't get me wrong - I think Sanders was solid.) I also think he's going to rock on special teams.
I get the feeling that if our recruits were properly rated, you probably wouldn't be saying this. At least three of our 3 star recruits should be 4 stars - at least. This class just lacks the star power that we'll have next year, but classes & teams aren't built on star power - they are built around guys like these.
The TV station I work for interviewed Thomas Parsons this morning after he signed with LSU... Was there one deciding factor to make you go to LSU? "Well...one thing that really hit me is when I walked into that stadium (laughs)...Death Valley. It's in your face. It's a FOOTBALL stadium and that's what I wanted...so, that's pretty much it."
I really like the class as a whole. I think we picked up some solid WR: comptetition for playing time should be fierce. I like Patrick Johnson a lot and wouldn't be surprised to see him on the field next year as a Nickle/Dime. It was good to see us sign several quality DBs. Karnell Hatcher looks like a really good pick-up. He will probably be a solid safety his Jr and Sr years. We added depth to the O-Line. I think the most underrated player(s) may be WR Tim Molton or LB Kyler Prater. I like both of these guys. I would have really liked to have seen a top-tiered LB. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
Alright, not a very popular subject, but what about least favorite recruits, or should I say recruits that you see as least likely to make an impact? Ryan St. Julien, Rockey Duplessis, Lavar Edwards, Alex Hurst, and PJ Lonergan were all 5.6 or below according to Rivals (low 3 stars). Or Jhyryn Taylor, Kyle Prater, or Tim Molton - all 5.7's (high 3 stars). I figure people will pick a 3 star here.
IMO, Chris Tolliver is a tad overrated. Not sure that he's going to have much of an impact. I hope I'm wrong. :crystal::geaux::crystal::geaux::crystal:
