I know the US Open is known for its long rough, but this is rediculous. They say the type of grass is more thick than usual and has caused a few golfers to experience pain in their wrist from practicing. Lefty for example.

Yea. With his injured wrist, which will have a cast, I doubt if he will be able to finish. The big question is will Tiger Woods have worked the kinks out of his game. The last two contests he was in, he wasn't even a factor.

he says he was experimenting with new junk while playing in those 2.

i know with the rough being so thick and the course being so long, it eliminates all but 15-20 guys before the tourny even starts.

this is one week where only the biggest and straighest have a chance.

If Tiger quits being so damn stubborn with his driver, he'd win this tourney and almost everyone he plays. 3 metal and long iron off the tee will be good enough for him to win. Gotta play from the fairway to win this one.

Stuart Appleby said the winning score will be around +10. Can't tell if this is the typical whining from players before the U.S. Open or the course is really that tough.

I enjoy the U.S. Open more than any other b/c it's a tough test of golf. But lately, it seems like the USGA is more interested in making these professionals look silly on their course.

    Look out for Zach Johnson...

this course is tough, but they have 3-4 365-380 yd par 4s that provide some relief for the players, so i think the winning score will be 3-4 over.

p.s. it's hard to call someone stubborn who has 12 majors, and won 2 out of the last 3, and who has won 7 of his last 11 pga starts. :)

163rd in driving accuracy. Can't imagine how many more wins he'll have if he ever solves his driving problem.

Oh well, even superman had one problem.

it's either use the driver and be 140 out in the rough

or use an iron and be 180 out in the fairway.

tiger is strong enough that his odds out of the rough from that distance are better than from the fairway.

now, granted, if he would ever hit a fairway with his driver, he would be unstoppable, but i understand why he keeps going to it.
