Yeah i think they are overdoing it a quite a bit. Did you notice that the USC hat was missing infront of McKnight this morning? Only a LSU, Ole Piss, and Bama hat in front of him....
the one thing charlie weiss said that makes sense, talking about a recruit who changed his commitment from nd to unc: "Why do we want someone who doesn't want to be here?"
Okay that is weird because a search of him came up empty. I guess Rivals and Scout see something in him that ESPN doesn't.
have always thought that since I started following recruiting. It almost seems a bit unclassy (JM is a classy guy, don't get me wrong) and is definitely cheesy. I think I'd admire a recruit who simply stood up (no hats, not even the one of the school he wants to go to), announce his choice and then excuse himself to go back to Chemistry class. Maybe just fax in the LOI before going to school and be done with it. All my life I've admired humble, low-profile people, and they stand out against the pack even more when their peers are self absorbed athletes. I do think Joe is a great guy, I guess that's more of a personality thing and he did seem a little shy and uneasy about all the attention, then again he brought it on himself.
Agreed. I guess my point was time for something new. I am big on originality and the hats on the table thing is getting old. If I was a high school recruit, I would skydive on NSD, with a custome made parachute of team I was choosing. Or, how about spray painting your decision on the overpass or the water tower.
bunch of threads with titles around the subject of Jones is a Tiger/LSU TIger just appeared on the Rivals board...about 6 of them at once.
