I will say this, the Defense stepping up & Lee playing good for a change was a breath of fresh air. I just hope we can continue to play up to our potiental for the rest of this season. What happened in the second half tonight has never been done before. Lets hope we won't get into that position again..
This bandwagon stuff is silliness. LSU has one healthy RS-Frosh QB who has proven that, although inconsistent (painfully so), he has flashes of high-quality play. LSU has one healthy true-frosh QB who is doing well to learn the system but is clearly not as comfortable throwing the ball. LSU has a coaching staff that has done pretty damned well in the SEC - better than other coaching staffs with just as much talent. So where's the bandwagon? With Hatch hurt, Lee's the only real alternative unless he just completely implodes. However, after throwing his SEVENTH pick-6 and 15th overall interception and getting benched, he cheered for JJ when JJ scored, and then came back in the game when the team needed him to drive and not make anymore mental errors and DID JUST THAT! He's still scary, especially early on. He's still struggling. But he's clearly got a lot of potential. By the way, the offense got moving when the offense stopped being predictable. And that happened with Lee's confidence came back and LSU was able to throw in first down. There's no friggin' bandwagon. If JJ was ready to play, Miles would NOT have put Lee back in the game tonight. JJ is not there yet.
I hope Lee's performance in the second half is an indication that he has turned a corner, but it is getting harder and harder to give him the benefit of a doubt. We will see what he does next week. I know one thing. We cannot stick with a QB who takes 30 minutes to warm up.
