So is an interception. None of these "turnovers" is good and you should work to eliminate them but repeated three and outs will wear your defense out and lose you the game like it did Saturday and also the BCSNCG. Les Miles should work as hard to eliminate the three and out turnover as he does the others.
turnover......ie...interception, is what he is afraid of......not punting. He knows he will have to punt during the game, and has no problem turning that over to his special teams....brad wing and company, the "turnovers" ie...interceptions and fumbles.....is what he doesn't want to happen, especially on his side the field....he can flip the field position with a punt from his own 30 yard line, he cant flip the field position on an interception or fumble from his own 30 yard line......THAT is the difference between a "turnover" and a change of possession. There I dumbed it down for you as much as humanly possible!
If you offered any coach in america.....a choice that they had to pick give a turnover or give a 3 and out......100% will take the three and out because they can punt and try to make long fields to drive.
I think you are TOTALLY missing the point about what he is trying to say..............we are not trying to resolve a spelling bee here.
Granted we only had one or two "turnovers" but many three and outs trying to run into a stacked line. WE LOST! There, I dumbed it down for YOU as much as possible.
That's a good line actually. 3 and out is somewhat of a turnover. Especially if the punt is average. If parcells said it it would be quotable.
Well ... let me sweeten the pot for ya. Offer any coach a choice of a turnover .... or 3 and out's 100% of the time .... which one do you think they'd pick?? That's our problem ... we are 3-out 100% of the time ... well .. almost. Granted, our turnovers are senseless. ODB fumbling on that long pass was senseless. No coach wants that. ... but our offense 3-outing 9 times in a row is not much better. I think it goes towards risk. .. risk that is when it comes to those turnovers that are just good plays on the defense's part, and not a bonehead move by our QB or WRs., or RBs. Risk, .. I mean, by taking the risk to reachout and do something. The more risk you take, the higher probability of ..... a HUGE return, as in great play .... or ... a turnover.
