And what are you basing this opinion on? A hunch? I would honestly like to know. Studrawa's offenses at Bowling Green were off the charts good. Aaaand ya lost me. . .:insane:
I almost responded to that one but figured if he can't CLEARLY see the difference there really isn't a point in responding.:insane:
Incorrect. Stud was the OC at BSU from '03-'06, when Meyer was at Utah & then Florida. What makes you think it's Miles' and not Krag's playbook? Or do you think Krag is also Miles' puppet? That's just not true. We throw on 1st down a good bit now, use the play action (something Crowton evidently didn't know existed), and run multiple plays out of the same set. You need to watch a replay of the WVU or Auburn game from last year; it will make you feel better.
Studrawa is coaching like this is his contract year and he's looking like he should get it. Keep Stud and keep Kragthorpe. I really don't understand it. I think people want a big name or are still stuck on their own perception of Stud rather than what our team has done this year. It's a ball control offense, it's not supposed to be explosive. The coaches have said that time of possession is important and most importantly our offense doesn't turn the ball over. Those are the 2 most important things in our offense and I'm okay with it. And you know Les will throw in a wrinkle every now and then. Crowton was all flash, no substance. That's why it failed in the SEC. Our offense right now is perfect for smashmouth SEC football.
And most importantly, no identity. That is the biggest difference between this year's offense and last year's. We know who we are, the other team knows who we are, and we impose our will on them. We catch them anticipating a certain play every so often, and it's just enough to keep them honest. I love this offense. It's everything I longed for when The Scarecrow was here.
All you have to do is read back in the threads about Stud the last few years and you will quickly learn that I haven't been a fan. However with no QB the offense looks drastically better this year. Is it Stud or is it Kraig, I don't know. But it is crystal clear that the offense is night and day better than it was last season. Given a decent QB no telling how good the offense could be. Those aren't even points to be argued, they are plain and simple facts. The two have done a pretty good job turning a complete clusterphuk into a pretty good offense. They should be given the chance to show what they can do with an SEC caliber QB. Next year should tell us much more, but for now they are doing pretty good, not perfect by any means but pretty damn good.
Les has found an oc that seems to understand what he wants to do and how he wants to play football. We have had a better passing game than any of us dreamed we would have. We score 7 points in the redzone this year instead of 3. We have less confusion and penalities. Stud has brought some degree of respect back to the lsu offense. Stud stays as oc. Krag stays to turn mett into a heisman qb.
