Someone saw the need to exterminate the place and although we love CR and the other coaches which were let go, Kelly saw a need to move away from them. Maybe this will be a good thing, and improve morale around the building. I like the idea of not hanging on to baggage from the past, we've been doing that for too long. If these guys can coach and get our talent to play at their best we will be fine. Talent will come here, its the coaching we have had the problem with. I'm actually surprised he kept anybody.
Hiring great coordinators on both sides of the ball is very important, but getting our NIL program in place is even more important! Clearly, Alabama, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Texas are way ahead in the NIL game, and LSU has to develop an NIL plan that can compete with the powerhouses in college football. Yes, LSU has to be ready to fork out a lot of money, if we truly want to compete for the top players in the country. The reality is elite players are openly for sale and LSU has to be able to offer a financial package that is equal to or better than the other programs. As a result, for the first time ever, many freshman players will walk onto LSU's campus already millionaires before ever attending one practice or team meeting! I hate it, but it is what it is!
As I heard someone say yesterday, it’s free agency without contracts. There is no control over movement as there is in the NFL.
Pretty sure the schools will eventually figure out a way to regulate it. I feel like we’re in the Wild West times.
