The Wishbone only works if you have an exceptional fullback. If the dive option is not a threat on each and every play, then it can be defended effectively. Not a lot of fullbacks are automatic for 3 yards inside against todays defensive lines.
Kenny Hilliard dude has all the tools plus he keeps his carries and can pound it in from short distances! and its not that simple the option lulz defenses to sleep until they let a big play happens which 9 times out of 10 it does with our defense it will happen plus our o-line can open holes or the defense misses one assignment and thats all it takes is one mess up to get gashed by the triple option Qb- unknown WB -Ford, Hill, Magee, Shep, Ware FB/HB- Hilliard, Copeland, Ware, Hill WR-Landry, Beckham, Boone, Wright , Te- Clement, Jacobs, Copeland possibly whoever else
THIS!!!! I hate the option. I hate running QBs. We have two 6'5 TE that are underutilized. Maybe if we start making the pass game the TE show, the WR's will begin to get the picture. "See the TE catch the ball ... that's what we want YOU to do" Wright should be getting more play as well.
Didn't the TEs catch 4 balls on Saturday? It's a step in the right direction, and if the WRs can't see their part in the whole situation, then I don't know what will make them wake up.
3 or 4 ... but the main thing is .. they caught every pass thrown their way. I mean ..on that Goal Line stand ... why not get Mett to target a 6'5 TE and just throw it high!! If he goes up and gets it .. great ... if not, it sails over everyone's head. But Frankly, defenses know we don't use our TEs ... so they don't even bother to guard them. [hence .. whey they are 100% on pass completions] Such a waste.
Plus who wants to see the triple option in tiger stadium.. Not me thats for sure... It's already boring enough that we can't move the ball with consistency..
Amen to that... This isn't the 1980's.. You cant run the tiple option and be effective and stay healthy week after week... Just ask Georgia Tech...
