Having this week off and the opportunity to relax at home and really watch football all day has really changed my perspective on the season. I think we (at least I) have been so focused on our team that all I could see was our short comings. Taking a step back and watching all of the supposed top teams play, I realized we are not that much behind them.

All three or the consensus "powers" right now looked sloppy and undisciplined. I saw a lot of the same issues we have in their play and their supposed to be the best. While they all ended up with winning, they each struggled against inferior opponents. With out a bit of luck, and serious assistance from the refs, all three could easily have been L's

We already showed that Florida is beatable and think our D set the blueprint for shutting down their Offense. (borrowing a bit from Tenn) If we can use this break to get our offense on track we can beat Bama. Not to mention Auburn and Arky.

I think you are right, there is no team in the NCAA that we can't beat, we just need to get the offense figured out, and keep getting better on D and Special Teams.

I agree, this LSU team has a good, hard-nosed defense that is still developing a pass rush but has suffocating defensive backs. It has a special team that is good both kicking and in the return game. The offense has top receivers, despite a lousy passing average and our running backs are proven. Turnovers and penalties are low. We have an offensive line and a quarterback who haven't kept up the pace and that's all that's keeping LSU from competing for the trophies instead of trying to get into a BCS bowl.

Six guys on offense. And we have a couple of the highest-paid professional football coaches in Miles and Crowton, both offensive experts. They have two weeks to get the offense fixed and I expect that we will see refined schemes, improvement in execution, and lineup changes.

Getting suicidal over unrealistic expectations is premature.

this was the entire point of my predicting LSU to win the SEC this year.

everybody thinks i'm crazy, because no other team in the SEC has any flaws.
open y'all eyes people. the SEC is up for grabs this year. moreso than most years.

Now that Bama has shown that they do indeed have an offense, what is their exploitable weakness?

As of the last 2 weeks, passing game.

If you want to beat them, stack the box and make Tin Cup beat you.

The thing is to be able to stop their running attack. McElroy has been figured out but their OL is plowing through DLs. Ingram and Richardson are both stud backs who are following their blocks and then making plays. If you can stop or slow the run Bama is very beatable.

yeah, they put up 4 more points against So Carolina than Florida Atlantic did.
fewer points than Kentucky or Georgia did.

Stop Ingram, easier said than done. There's not a single player on that offense besides Ingram and Peek who worry me at all, Julio is a good receiver.. but he's probably the 5th best in the SEC.. at best.
