Saints move up in the draft to get safety/corner Vonn Bell. Not overly big at 5'11" 200 lbs, but has great play making ability. Same dude that had the game ending interception vs Alabama 2 years ago in the playoffs. Gave up our 4th round pick to get him. He was a good value pick as he was projected to go in the first half of the 2nd round and the Saints got him on the tail end of the 2nd round.
I see a lot of people on other boards bitching about the Saints giving up a pick to move up and get Bell, but damn, look at the hands on this guy.
And the what seems like 20th pick out of Ohio state to the Saints. I think this guy is a difference maker. I liked it when I heard his name. Because I remembered watching him make plays against Bama.
I like to think of him as a Tyrann Mathieu type player, hybrid safety/nickel, undersized, playmaker, he's just is a football player
I like all the picks so far, but I hate the philosophy of giving up picks to trade up every year. The Saints have many holes to fill. I would have liked another upgrade at DL. Doesn't matter how well you cover if you cant stop the run or get to the QB.
The New Orleans Saints have traded up to select defensive lineman David Onyemata out of Manitoba in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. They showed highlights and it looked like he was playing 1A high school level competition in college. Canadian apparently. Man against boys so who knows. They went off the grid for this one.
