Tracy Porter was buried on the depth chart in Denver.

Look, I'm not saying TP is Derrell Revis, but we HAVE to do something with our secondary.

We did. Keenan Lewis will be a substantial upgrade, and Corey White is loaded with potential.

I was wondering the same damn thing! They're stockpiled on both sides of the ball and yet somehow, they're under the cap.

That's true, but they're loaded everywhere. They have talent and depth at every single position.

I hope you are right if you think that Keenan Lewis is the answer to all of our problems.

I think we need to find another CB.

Fair enough. I think our cornerbacks are adequate as is. What I think we need more than anything is to upgrade the pass rush. Porter and Greer looked pretty damn good in '09 when we were getting after QBs like they had bounties on them.

Yes, in no particular order: pass rush, secondary, left tackle.

You can never have enough CBs in today's NFL.

    ..he's a small guy: 5-8, 188

..he'll turn 31 on Sunday Oct 27 (Week 8 of the NFL season), so he'll probably get to play a game on his birthday

..for 4 of the last 5 years, he played for Rex Ryan (both for the Ravens where Ryan was DC since 1999, then with the Jets), starting 13, 16, 11, 13 games a seasons at S before going to Denver last year

..in addition to S, he's doubled as a punt returner each of the last 7 seasons, amassing a total of 909 punt return yards

..his hometown has a billboard up in his honor:

    ESPN New York:
a Ryan defense...requires a heavy mental burden from the safeties. That's why Jim Leonhard always was so important; he played "quarterback" from the safety spot.

from an interview with Leonhard on another site:

What do you do to train now, and what did you do to get to this point?
The biggest thing is lifting weights and lots of speed and agility work. Not being the biggest guy, it doesn’t matter necessarily how strong I’m going to be. Those other players have a lot of weight on me. I have to have the intelligence and the speed and the quickness in order to get out of situations and to make plays. It’s a good combination; you need a little bit of everything and can’t look past that thing on your shoulders. You have to have the intelligence in order to have success in this game.
