That really dont show any kind of rank. They just went off of some old stats from this year. I want to know out of.... 1.Florida (55) 2.Texas (2) 3.Alabama (3) 4.Mississippi 5.Penn St. 6.California 7.LSU 8.Boise St. 9.Miami (FL) 10.Oklahoma Where do you as a tiger fan rank the passing game?
Haven't really seen much. I'd put Florida, Texas, Alabama, Boise St, Miami, and Oklahoma ahead of us. For now  Just a passing stat.. Right now we average 6.5 yards/attempt. Last year we averaged 6.7 yards/attempt
middle to bottom and it depends whether you are factoring in the running game. if the question is "if all a team did was pass, where would they rank?" id put lsu higher.
And what did you conclude? I don't know how you think stats from this year are "old," being that they are this year's stats. But yeah, last year's stats are relevant because we are still at the beginning of the season, just beginning to get into conference play. As for LSU, JJ only had like 5-6 starts in his career as a Tiger, and he hasn't been lighting the world on fire or anything. As for Florida, Texas, and Oklahoma, they have Tebow, McCoy, and Stafford who were all in the race for the Heisman last year (I think they finished 1-2-3), and it won't be surprising to see them all be great again this year. As for Bama, they have a new QB this year in Greg McElroy (who I think is legit, unlike JPW). As for Ole Miss, yeah, Snead was so awesome last year that every draft site I've been to has him projected as a First Round NFL QB... but he was absolute trash last night vs. South Carolina, and was shaky in his first two games of the season before that. As for Penn St, the QB they have is considered a top 10 QB, and I think he's the same guy they had last year. As for Cal, their QB isn't considered top 25 at this point, but he's shown flashes of brillance that have got him praise. I don't know if he was their QB last year or not. But the thing with Cal is they have the #1 RB in the nation, who I won't be surprised to see win a big chuck of the votes for this year's Heisman. As for Boise St, their QB is considered a top 20 QB, but I don't know if he was their QB last year or not. As for Miami, looks to me like that guy is currently way over-hyped, but he is considered a Top 15 QB at this point. Last year he got the short end of the stick while sharing time with a QB who was a freshman (I think a true freshman).
all this is only a part of the story. tebow and mcelroy dont have much to throw to. honestly i put lsu's passing game above each of theirs.
Probably between 7th and 9th. We MAY be better than Ole Miss, Alabama, Cal and Penn State. That's about it.
I would have to rank LSU in the top 5 b/c of the talent around our QB. LSU probably has two of the best WR in the country. Throw in Dickson (perhaps the best TE in the country) and nearly all of our RB's can catch a screen and turn it into something. In addition Jefferson seems smart enough to keep his ints down. I would say that LSU is in the top 5 when it comes to passing. From what I seen this year I am not impressed with the top 10's passing games. Sure the Gators and Longhorns have future NFL first round picks starting on their teams but the talent around those guys IMO doesn’t match up w/LSU. Our QB has a few games under his belt. IM sure with each day he learns something new. I would imagine that by the end of the year LSU should be ranked in the top 3 in the SEC in passing. If your top three in the SEC then you are top three in the country => give or take... Stats are fun for fantasy league but they don’t tell the whole story.
