I thought after the game that if bama came out running the ball that this game would'nt have been close.

does anyone besides the media and pac10 hoard really believe pete carroll is a defensive guru? i mean if you have actually watched the games since hes made USC relevant, ive never come away but one year thinking their d was truly legit. that was 2 years ago. but keep in mind their depth chart on d is littered 3 deep with 5 stars across the board in a conference where defense isnt even stressed.

no, i used to come away thinking how great of an offense they have. and relative to talent its been pretty disappointing since norm chow has departed. so what does pete carroll do? he gets his team up for the biggest games. Yet that laissez-faire approach costs him almost annually in the supposed irrelevant games on the road.

Similarly, Les Miles' greatest strength is getting his boys to play for him...hard. In big games. But also taking care of business in the not so important ones.

thats something most good even great coaches have trouble doing.

LSU was ready to play saturday as anyone who follows les was aware would be the case.

yet he loses his starting QB, starting RB, starting LT at one point and lost the best player in the conference in Phillip Patterson.

And still had a chance to beat the gumps, saban and refs all in one fell swoop.

    who got outcoached again?

The total # of post does not make you any less an LSU fan . I have been since the 60's and always will continue to be . One that does not see through Purple and Gold glasses . I bleed P&G , but the colors do not blind me . And the # of post does NOT make you more KNOWLEDGABLE about coaching and football that is proven by YOUR # of posts

Do you NOT see the false start penalites that wipe out big plays ?? do you not see the utter CONFUSION before the snap just before big moments in the game ? What about wrong formation Penalites that put us deep in the hole and these sometimes happen TWICE IN A ROW If that is a your idea of a well coached focused team then you are lost behind your purple and gold glasses

Anyone who follows the team knows Les Miles' specialty is motivation.

When it comes down to it, i don't see how Miles can control a guy enought to make him stay still before the snap.

As far as the formation, I am also sure Miles made it clear where the guys should line, Again more of a player that got confused rather than MILES making them confused.

The play was perfect and the used for the first time, chit happens.

I guess somewhere in your old age you lost your common sense too.

Amazing how the same complaints aren't made about Saban. I mean it was obvious that he is a bad coach. Can someone remind me how many passes Jones dropped, isn't that Sabans fault? Bama, shot themselves in the foot just as many times as we did, but as you point out it falls on the players at some point and not the coaches.
