And that's why in the 3rd quarter Ingram came out strong. That was the right halftime adjustment that knocked the D off balance on that first drive. Even when Ingram did run the ball in the first half, it was for small gains or no gains. Our Dline didn't fare too bad against a Heisman runner. I'm very proud of them. You and me both. The grass isn't always greener when you fire a quality head coach that wins ball games and is loyal. 90's were rough. Our coaching staff is top notch. I do think they're conservative, and for JJ's sake, I thank them for it. I for one, hope Coach Miles stays around forever :thumb:
It's still amazing to me that people don't get it! CLM is the head coach and all things go through him. He is in charge and it's his team. If you look at LSU over the past 5 years all bad and all good can be laid at his feet! He knows how to get the whole football team ready and you should look at his record. 2009 is the almost year so far but I want to see this team finish strong and I think CLM will make sure that happens. Pre-season top 5 next year and a real run! Love the Hatter!!:miles:
Out of the coaches you named and what they are known for Urban = piss poor O this year Carrol = piss poor D this year Nutt= piss poor O this year For Miles to have a better record than the all mighty saban, I think this post was better left in the back of your head. Really, for someone who claims to know so much about football, you should know that it's not always about knowing all there is to know about schemes and so forth. I think your "so call knowledge of the game" has gotten to you with comments like these.
Miles specialty is he is an excellent head coach. He makes in game adjustments on both sides of the ball. He has the capability to see what needs to be fixed in all aspects of the game. Instead of specializing in one area Miles is a complete coach. IMHO, the best we have had in a long time.
Miles was an offensive line coach before becoming a head coach. His specialty is being a head coach. He hires people who know more about offense, and defense, special teams, quarterbacks, d line, defensive backs, running backs etc. What he does is trust that the people who specialize in those fields will put his players in position to succeed. When he gave Malveto a chance and that didn't work, he replaced them. Miles is facilitator, and a leader of men, and a hell of a motivator, those are his specialties. And i am DAMN PROUD, to have him as my head coach!
