DD has Singleton listed 3rd behind Lyle Hitt and Arnold at OG. I wouldn't be concerned about depth at another position, but I hate to see us lose another OL.

Matt Allen is a true guard who's been filling in at tackle from what I understand. Also, we have a number of incoming freshman who could easily see action there, such as Ernest McCoy.

Thanks, Barksdale's move to the OT makes more sense everyday. Max Holmes, also a center, is listed as a third option at the other guard position. I wonder if Ryan Miller, who most expected to be a starting center, will be useful at another position along the line?

    According to the Times-Picayune:

Numbers game: Not including departing seniors, LSU's roster stands at 67, which means LSU has to lose at least seven through attrition in order to sign the maximum number of 25 recruits on signing day.

Miles would not speculate on who might leave.

If that number does not include departing seniors then we should be fine without losing 7 to attrition. Plus one thing is wrong with that statement, we can sign a maximum of 28 and enroll a maximum of 25 but we can enroll more if they are counted back like Adams and possibly Washington.

There was a story on ESPN about how the new Kentucky basketball coach gave around 5 players their walking papers when he was hired to make room for stellar recruits. The point is that scholarships are only for 1 year and must be renewed. More and more football coaches, for example, (Saban when he went to Alabama) are ridding there teams of their weakest players in order to sign the limit each year. With multimillion dollar coaching salaries on the line, a coach is at a competitive disadvantage if he doesn't "encourage" weak players to transfer. Morally it may be in a grey area to many people, but I think it is here to stay. Don't look for as many smaller recruiting classes as in the past. Give Miles credit for honoring Breaux's scholarship, the kid with the broken neck, a few years ago. There may come a time when the subject of this thread is a mute point and everyone signs the limit every year.

I bet Breaux could help out with recruiting. He's a walking testimonial about LSU's loyalty.

You think Saban on Meyer would do that?
