The buzzards circling LSU have left and followed the plane back to the Plains. Coach O deserves a break from the pressure but I hope that the team doesn't lose the backs against the wall mentality they have had the past few weeks. The criticism and pressure have had positive results. This team had it in them, they just needed to find that focus. True leaders are emerging on this team. This is something they lacked at the beginning of the season.
I was very pleased with the emergence of a short passing game. Etling missed some dump offs but he hit some slants and curls that lead to points. Last time we saw that was when Flynn was under center. That kind of success will definitely transform this offense. It's nice to know that on 3rd & 11 we have a play that can continue a drive, and I'm sure no one is more pleased than the Defense.
i’m good with this. if the ones pimping O can also admit that 1 big win in his entire career doesn’t make him the 2nd coming on Knute Rockne as well. i’ve already said team and staff deserve a ton off credit for this one. this definitely something that can be built upon. but now they have to do it. i’ve watched college football in general (and LSU specifically) for far too many years to let one game erase everything that happened before it.
All fair statements and I would bet eaux would agree with you also. Lets just hope the improvements continue.
I get the fanbase's vote of no confidence in Aleva. With that in mind, I get that many don't like how the process of replacing Miles unfolded. And all of the anger following the very slow start is also understandable. But if you're an LSU fan, and not just a fan of a particular current or past coach, you have to accept that Oeaux is the coach, and is going to be the coach for the foreseeable future; at the very least, through next season. Oeaux deserves the luxury of time to allow this team and this coaching staff to mesh, and time to at least put a team on the field that is bolstered by his own recruiting. Things looked pretty dismal after Troy, but the past two games indicate an upturn. Give the man time to build on that, and the support of the fanbase will go a long way in how the progress shows up on the field.
We need to hurry up and fire Orgeron so we can hire Troy's head coach. We need to do this ASAP before Auburn replaces Malzahn with him.
