I'd add Saban's name to this list. I realize he's not going to come here, but if the University brought him back, I'd have such a hard time rooting his team on.
[QUOTE="Bengal B, post: 1576992, member: 513" Can anyone say Tommy Tuberville?[/QUOTE] Although I'd be ok with it, Tommy aint going anywhere near Nick.
Knowing the way Alleva screws stuff up it wouldn't surprise me in the least if we end with the coach from Western Kentucky
He simply inherited Petrino's playbook and is driving Petrino's older car. He would need Petrino to come and do another playbook for him with SEC talent and styles.
After what I've read so far about coach O I'm sold. I don't even haven't watch a game. Hearing about how he's up beat and he's bringing high energy to practice is what this team needs. I can almost guarantee he's our next head coach. He loves LSU and is from Louisiana. He's also a great recruiter.
I agree, I love everything I've heard thus far. His fire and intensity will show through. I can't see players or coaches coasting by under Coach O like they did Miles. If he runs the table or loses one game but beats Bama I think they have to keep him. Being Cajun and a SL grad myself I'm certianly rooting big time for Coach O.
Coach O will not even be considered seriously for the position....with one caveat....if Etling starts passing for 250 to 300 yards and 2 to 3 td passes a game, then all bets are off. I do agree that recruiting would stay just as strong if not slightly improve under Coach O.
Who knew Coach O was a P.R. genius. Cant wait til some of these NFL teams have bye weeks, namely arizona. saints dont have any LSU guys as usual which is why they suck on defense again. “As many of you are aware, we have endured a major change on our LSU Football coaching staff. At this time, Head Coach Ed Orgeron will take over as commander and chief,” Kristen H. Cain, in charge of LSU’s special events & community relations, wrote in the email. “After speaking with him briefly yesterday morning, his vision is to empower our former Tigers to feel welcomed back on campus,” the email, sent Tuesday morning, said. “Coach O would like to open practice to the former players for the rest of this season and would also like to make it available for our former players to lead the team down Victory Hill on game day. This will create the excitement that we all know follows the purple and gold and to continue the trend that we are all ‘Tigers for Life.’” someone tell this millennial chick its not commander and chief. She's representing our university. sigh
I see a 20% chance he is kept as of right now ....beat some good teams up to 40% ..Beat the Gumps he is at 80%.
