of course it was correct. not the normal call but he knows his kicker and his team. your problem is you think you are smarter than the dudes getting paid millions. occasionally its acceptable. with you its a constant. step away from the calculator. you've lost perspective. but yeah, I woulda ran it.
The call worked, but with the way the Titans run the ball, give it to White and get a new set of downs to make it a closer fg attempt. Plus a miss would have given GB a short field to get into field goal range. But it worked and they're still undefeated.
I would have run it but Bironas is money. He doesnt miss and most of his kicks are drilled down the middle. He booms 55 and 60 yarders all the time in practice, Fisher knows this. Plus, he didnt want to give GB any shot whatsoever. Criticizing Fisher for a winning move is akin to criticizing Miles for all his crazy calls last year. Sure they may have gone against better judgment but when you win...dont matter.
Its okay to talk to yourself as long as you don't answer back. My 13 year old know it all son is constantly calling me out for that and I tell him that I'm a "brilliant conversationist" What are the chances that Fisher would admit it if he thought it was actually 4th down? The Titans are in zone right now, they all need to hit the casinos !
Yeah, but Bironas is about as good as their is from that distance. I think he hit one from 60+ last year with room to spare. Fisher is confident he can make them from 50 all day long. (Yeah, I know he missed one from 41 yesterday, but no one is going to make them all).
