3rd and 1 from the 24, he elects to kick a 41 yard FG to win the game in OT. I would like for someone to give justice to what I consider is a bizarre call. I know I will have some takers. I can think of one for sure. :thumb:
Then it's a 50 yard FG the 2nd time. I agree at the 7 yard line, yeah go ahead and do that. Nice try, though.
The defense could be so antzy to block the kick they jump offsides resulting in a 1st down. If there is a bad snap or hold then the holder or kicker could pick up the ball and advance it so it would not automaticaly be a 50 yarder for the 2nd try. Not to mention their kickers career longest was 60 yrds....I think they said that right before they lined up for the 63 yarder to end the half which they kneeled which was just dumb.
The call made no sense and shouldn't just be excused. If the kicker would have just pulled/pushed it slightly and missed it and Green Bay go on to victory, there would have been endless questions about this. I just think Fisher has that much confidence in his kicker. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. He proved him right.
I know I was waiting on someone to give me good reason, so I decided to answer the question myself. Still not the correct move on Fisher's part.
