id love to see a chest match. suppan and weaver have been superb. at least we have a good series. thats why the mets let looper go. guy has sucked ever since leaving wichita state.
I don't know whats up with Wagner in the playoffs....I never felt great with him out there when he was an Astro....seems even worse as a Met I would be frightened to see him out there with a 1 run lead against Detroit Damn dude, please dont do a complete meltdown....a partial one is ok in this instance Of course, one of my pet peeves is asking a closer to come into a game that is NOT a save situation....i wish someone compiled the ERA in that instance...it would be hideous...and I mean across baseball in its history....not just Wagner
If Oliver Perez has to throw 90 pitches to get out of the first 2 innings, then so be it. Just dont give up a big blast, and he should be ok to start out the game. Then it's bullpen time. Let the "chess" match begin. LaRussa being on the other side almost confirms a Cardinal loss.
************* DING DING DING ************* -------------> WE GOT A WINNER! <------------- ...................and it AIN'T Tony LaRussa...............
I like Willy. He's done a good job with this team. Hasn't been easy going with pitcher options 3, 4, 5, and 6 in this series. LaRussa will make 7 pitching changes in 1 inning causing his head to explode.
bayarea, i like u, u good folk righty, righty lefty, lefty righty, righty lefty, lefty i think he goes back in the clubhouse and jacks to it in between pitching changes
Thems kind words amigo. I am actually an O's fan, as I met Johnny U as a 9 year old in '65 at the Sears on Florida Blvd. Loved ALL Baltimore teams. Bullets moved in '72, who cares about them. Colts moved under cover of darkness in '83, now one the teams I despise in the League. O'are IMPOSSIBLE to root for now, Angelos is Tom Benson's evil lawyer twin. Which brings me to the A's. I liked 'em in the 70's for their style, even though they took down the O's a coupla times. LaRussa drove me freakin' nuts in the late 80's with the Bash (now Steroid) Brothers teams. He should have won 3 straight, but he won only one and almost by default in the Quake Series in '89. I just really feel sorry for Cards fans. LaRussa is really a dunce. PS I had a cousin who knew Bob Aspromonte when he played for the Stros in the mid 60's. He usta set us up with tickets right on the 3rd base line in the 'Dome...
Don't forget there were a couple of seasons after the 3 straight appearances in the WS that his team should have made it and didn't. Minnesota in 91 and Toronto in 92...both underdogs Just think Cox vs LaRussa in 91...nobody woulda won!
