For you Cardinal fans, the only reasonable chance to beat Detroit is to end the series against the Mets in 6. Meaning a win tonite and a win tomorrow at Shea.

Then the rotation is as follows:

    Game 1 Suppan
    Game 2 Weaver

    Game 3 Carpenter
    Game 4 Reyes
    Game 5 Suppan

    Game 6 Weaver
    Game 7 Carpenter

Weaver pitches both games on the road, where he seems to be much more comfortable. Suppan and Carpenter get to pitch a home game, which is much more suitable to them. Carpenter pitches game 7. Reyes only sees one start.

If the Mets series goes 7 and the Cards win, then Reyes would open the series in Detroit and would be forced to pitch 2 games in the series, with Weaver only pitching 1 game, if LaRussa decided to go against short rest starts. Essentially, Reyes, Weaver, Carpenter, Suppan, Reyes, Weaver, Carpenter.

Maine v Carpenter... I like the Cardinals chances. LaRussa and the boys did a great job tonight.

I still don't think the Cards can win a game at Shea, even with Carpenter. Dude is just average on the road (actually worse than average). Maine's leash might be just 1 inning at this point.

I think the better chance for Cards is game 7, with either Trachsel or Oliver going for the Mets. Both are dreadful.

I think Pujols is getting to be a dick.....did u see him run to first for the out against Floyd, forcing him to try to run at the end? And this is Pujols, who has a hamstring injury. Like I said, what a dick. The report is that he has become much more of an ass to the media these past couple of years. Oh well....where have all the true heroes gone?

Pujols is a good guy. I think you have little man syndrome with the Cards

Well the report about him being a prick with the media has been stated. So I didnt just make that up.

I thought he was a cool guy too. But then he comes out and says Glavine wasn't very good in the game in which he pitched 7 shutout innings. That's pretty crappy.

the mets sent me an email that said:

"we have chosen the winners of our lottery. unfortunately, you are a not a winner. and also you lost the ticket lottery"

those guys really have a sense of humor.

El Duque appears to be able to pitch in the WS....at this point he has to be able to pitch 2 starts for them....or they can just hand the trophy over to Detroit
