I dont care if you lose by 1 or 10 runs, you still freaking lost. Your closer blew up and your team got swept. I will compare it when a team got swept as the other did. I dont care if you lost by a run or whatever. You still lost dude. Deal with it, the Astros are a second rate organization that was held hostage by the Rocket this year. You know your team is sad when they are sitting on pins and needles waiting on the Rocket for half the year. In 40 years how many WS do the Stros have?? How many have they been to??? Now compare that to...**** I dont know...the Marlins and the Diamondbacks who have been arond how long??? When you get swept, you get swept. The Cardinals and the Stros were swept. I will agree that TLR has a pathetic LCS record. But, wouldn't the Stros like to have had the opportunity to lose 5 LCS??? Atleast the Cards get there. They have been embarassed there a few times and it sucks but they got there.
Im not even going to read the rest of the thread, but if their is a Cards vs. Astros debate I'm pretty sure even Einstein couldnt figure out a way to make the Astros look better...well, they do have a cool train.
I like Tony, but ya gotta think that he pulls an ohfer without the 'roids... ...and that's too damn bad.... :dis:
Well Torre didn't get in the car this afternoon only to take a one way ride into Jersey before being whacked....guess he has at least another year in pinstripes.
Tigers making a statement tonite against the A's If A's dont do much better at situational hitting, they will be done...and quickly...unless the Big Hurt starts hitting 3 run homers That damn Leyland....he sure knows what he is doing
terrific article for the students of baseball in the house (tirk and iztiztle this means you): http://www.slate.com/id/2151273
Ahhhhh, music to my ears. Tonight's game rained out. An extra day of rest for Carpenter. Potential for him to play earlier in the series and be utilized again before game 7. Such as in game 6 when martin is crying alongside Mr. Met as Carpenter seals the deal to win the NLCS for the 'cards!
Well pitching both games on the road (games 2 and 6) for Mr Carpenter would not be his best use He needs to pitch the first game in St. Louis....where he has dominated all season long LaRussa said he is probably not going to switch his pitching, and keep Suppan as the game 2 starter. No real effects from this delay, other than Rolen getting an extra day's rest.
I would rather Rolen just stay on the bench. The offense seems better without him. I know his glove is huge, but I'll take Speizio at the plate.
