How you gonna run yourself out of a big inning? Shyt like that is just unacceptable in the playoffs. I dont care if the ump got the call wrong at the plate.
tirk, please tell u didnt bet the house on the OVER on this game....Rogers pitching like gangbusters thru 2 innings its still early however
Jon Miller referred to the questionable call on throwing out Pudge at 3rd as "the bad call by the umpire". There was no camera angle that showed it clearly one way or the other, altho it did possibly appear he was out. You never hear an announcer explicitly state it that way. I guess he loves the Yankees.
Rogers pitching the game of his life. This is why they play the game...you just never know...that's what makes baseball so awesome
Well, I figure its about time another Cardinal fan posted. Living in Houston, I fully enjoyed every moment of the "collapse". Watching all the Astros fans feel hope for a couple of weeks as their team decided to score runs, only to go back to their old ways of ineptitude that put them 8 1/2 games back in the first place, was a thing a beauty. Maybe if they had an offense, they would have made the playoffs. Heck, the Cardinals have the Astros second leading RBI producer (Preston Wilson). I believe Biggio (62) was next in line in RBI's after Berkman this year when Wilson isn't counted. Give the Cardinals credit, they led for almost the entire year and sustained the "rally" of the Astros. Anyway, respond with all the "Cardinals are the worst team in the playoffs" crap you want. They'about to make it to the NLCS and will have Carp ready for 2 and possibly three appearances. I like the chances of getting to the world series if Edmonds and Belliard continue to play well. They'll likely get swept in the WS, but I'll take it over the end resulf of the 30 teams that didnt make it.
If you think your beloved Cardinals are getting past the Mets, you's a fool. Believe me, it's not the stellar play of the Cards in this series, but the god awfulness of the Padres, especially their hitters. I could pitch a shutout against them at this point. Mets hitters will make a mockery of Cardinal pitching.
I love Joe Morgan's explanation of how he understands that they missed the call. Even the ump who was moving out the way saw the damn chalk fly 6 feet in front of him. And the other ump around third base lookin dead down the line and he couldn't see the chalk. That's embarrassing.
Oh yeah. I know I guy out here that worked for him at his Bud distributorship in the Bay Area, and he said JM is a COMPLETE jerk. Dude is really bad... And now even the fat stroker Jon Miller is agreeing with JM... "Must've kicked up some sand..." :cuss:
