As I've said, the Cardinals starters had been pitching better of late. The Bully has also done well in this series. Everyone wrote these guys off and boy have they proven some people wrong. Its not over though so I won't speak to soon. Suppan has been the Cards hottest pitcher and he goes Saturday. I hope to hell they close it out Saturday so we don't need to see Carp again.
Cardinals will only embarrass themselves as they did in the WS in 2004....when the Astros and Carlos Beltran and unhittable Brad Lidge should have played the Red Sox instead. Mets will be licking their chops at that pitching staff. This just in...The Padres suck.
blow me. I coulda swore everyone was saying the Cardinals were terrible and the Padres would blow them away. Now its just that the Pads suck. Im sorry that your a Lastros fan, a franchise that has been around for 40 years and has played in less World Series than that MARLINS have won! :lol:
Funny thing about the A's control of that series over Twins, that if they should lose the game today, the Twins will come back and win it in 5. They will go with Santana tomorrow and Bonzer back at home in game 5. So it's a must game for Oakland, believe it or not. And don't think it wont be in their heads about the fact they can't close out a series after being up 2-0.
Santana would not have been able to go on 3 days rest, so scratch that. The series was over at that point, having to rely on Silva to win a game 4. This won't sit well with management/ownership the way the Twins have played in this series. The Twins are a team that played 71-33 coming into the playoffs. They look a lot more like the 25-33 team that started the season. Unless there's some kind of remarkable awakening of the Twins bats, they will go down without a fight. Gardenhire will not survive this.
