I've heard that so much but I call BS. There is over a month between the Dec 4 announcement and the playoffs. Setting it back a week does no harm. If they're so concerned about player safety and the integrity of the season, pushing it back a week should be no issue.
we sure as hell are not going to agree to play a tough physical game vs Florida the week before Bama florida/georgia isnt getting moved and the sec cg most definitely isnt being played any other time than the first saturday in december
I'm not sure if it's a rule, but Bill Hancock has said something about games after conference championships and their impact on the selection committee. One will have to look it up ... there were a handful of articles last summer (2015) about Army vs Navy and the possibility of Navy being in the New Years Six. It was along the lines of "if Navy has a chance to claim a place in that group of six, the committee will delay the announcement." The article was partially centered around Navy joining the AAC.
What you guys think about this? So, who picks who Bama plays? Is it just a random selection? Honestly, the mere mention of Bama leaves me shaking my head a bit. UA had NOTHING to do with this...or, shouldn't have from the AD, IMO.
Funny how you Bama guys try to act so uninvolved. I vote we get to select your schedule going forward to make things 'fair'.
I don't think he is suggesting that bama play on it's bye week, but rather suggesting that would bama or anybody take that deal under the circumstances? Nick sure won't after getting his panties twisted over other schools having the bye he didn't have leading into their games. This is one school pushing it's position against the other. Both sides have viable reasoning that serves the best interest of their perspective programs. Them gators like to push back and whine about not getting the home game. We offered every reasonable option for the very weekend but they played their want card at the expense of 2 universities. Pretty fucking selfish, but a situation that sheds more light on the commish than any other decision maker. Now it is political positioning to demonstrate the other school won't be reasonable over a game that should have been played already. One way or the other, the revenue is gonna be a hit ,but here's Florida simply wanting to be put on a pedestal all while not taking that hit in revenue. In the end, I think we are better positioned to say fuck you than they are, so this slap fight will continue.
As it should. Lets be honest, UF has a hell of a lot more at stake than LSU. Over 95% of the college football world has written LSU off for the 2016 season. But, Its still punishing the players, coaches and fans by missing yet another game.
