That's just crazy talk. With Miles knowing that this is the one area that needs improvement, and like yesterday, he wouldn't promote an OL coach to OC. Especially not one that has been part of the problem to begin with.
Yep, and he seems rather excited about his interview tomorrow. If info holds true to form, we might have a winner. Announcement might be coming as early as Wed.
Sounding more and more like Miles is just going through the motions and already has the OC spot set. Keep hearing Gonzales. Might need to change the OC Wish List to QB Coach Wish List. New name on the board = Joe Lombardi
I don't really care which direction Miles goes in, and I don't care who he hires as long as: (a) there is a rhyme or reason to the play-calling (b) we utilize our abundance of talent (according to recruiting websites) (c) no more option to the short side of the field (d) we notice improvement in our QBs (e) we don't finish 10th, 11th or 12th in the SEC in total offense
Well for all those reasons you SHOULD care what direction we're going in and who we are hiring. And for those very reasons, you should be extremely afraid of a Gonzales promotion to the position. It's got the Co-DC debacle written all over it.
A guy with no OC exeperience, and who has been thus far "groomed" by a spread guy and Crowton? Yep, seems awfully risky considering who else we could land. Very questionable move and I don't understand it one bit, if true.
