He recruits Texas along with those areas. He was also one of the closers for the position coaches however the other guys on the staff had more defined areas in Texas just like with most OC and DCs recruit. Over the last few years the main targets he has picked up where from Brownwood, New Deal, Midland, Wichita Falls, etc... Also targeted prospects in Houston, Dallas, Bushland, etc...

I'm just passing along info from someone intimate with the TCU program.

Whatever help we can get with Texas would be huge.

Why would Kragthorpe leave Louisville (where he's an OC isn't he?) to accept a LESSER position someplace else???

Just doesn't make sense to me.

Just because you have a QB that can run doesn't mean you HAVE to use the spread. And just because you have a pocket passer doesn't mean you CAN'T run the spread.

Arkansas runs a variation of the spread and Mallett could NEVER be confused as being a threat to run.

The Patriots run a spread offense and no way in hell does Brady ever run a read/option.

Don't see "spread" and think it's automatically a system in which the QB is utilitzed as a running threat. Yes, that's how most colleges that use it operate, but there are some that don't.

"Spread" just means rolling out with multiple WR sets that spreads the defense out in order to cover each player thereby naturally creating running lanes.

Kragthorpe was HC at Louisville until he was fired. He then accepted a position as WR coach at Texas A&M. In July 2010, he resigned due to family medical issues.

Kragthorpe is currently unemployed, but most recently he was the WR coach at A&M. He was fired as HC of Louisville a couple years ago.

Guy just doesn't seem like he would be a good choice for multiple reasons, most of which being that he's never been very successful. But I keep hearing his name for some reason, and that concerns me. Just hope we're doing everything it takes to reel in Fuente.

Gotcha! I forgot he had gone to Louisville as a HC. From the photo I've seen from his profile associated with the OC job, he was in Louisville gear....I honestly just assumed he was Charlie Strong's OC.

Correct. Even with that, I think a lot of fans want an offense that employs a power running attack. I think that's where a good deal of the concerns about the spread offense come from.
