If you look at his background, and his success at TCU, too, you'd find a lot of what you're looking for. It's not just TCU's been good. It's been how they've been good--balanced running attack, feeding multiple players, with a very efficient passing attack. Consistently high numbers on yards and scoring. More importantly, the guy's a former QB at Oklahoma and Murray State, who was a decent player. Also coached both running backs and QBs. I don't know how involved he is in recruiting but I would assume he's got good ties. Only question is he's only 34 and relatively young. He's also interviewed for OC positions at Clemson and USC (yes, Lane Kiffin). I'm sure he hasn't been on the stage quite like LSU too. For some reason, I really like the sound of this guy. Although frankly, LSU's gotten to the point where they can interview former HCs at big time schools for coordinator spots. Speaks well of where we've come to. :LSU231:
All the sportswriters are wishing for Norm Chow...They'll all be so clever with the obvious "Chinese Bandits" references. ...and when the offense sputters, they'll call the offensive game plan "the Chinese fire drill". ugh :rolleye33:
Another thing I like about Fuente is that he can recruit the state of Texas. Something we need to address especially with the troubles in Texas .
Great minds think alike, eh? :yelwink2: Our choice got his own thread after these posts? I do think Fuente would make a great pick. My only question would be why he got passed over at Clemson. He's definitely making the "interview circuit". I think it comes down to does he fit in with Miles' staff and can he be accepted in Tigertown, which frankly is a less forgiving community than that of TCU.
So, any new info on Kragthrope?? Youd think he has gotta at least get an interview?? Id like to see Monken get an interview as well...that guy did some things with our WRs during his time in BR
