1.) Okla St is a little too pass-happy for me. The only RB's that developed into NFL caliber ones (Verand Morency comes to mind first) was when Miles was there. 2.) Remember, Gundy, their HC, didn't allow Miles to meet with the entire team to say goodbye after accepting the HC job here. Bridges there for Miles, for whatever reason, appear to be burned.
Perhaps. But no more so than Saban is the real architect of his team's defense but that didn't/hasn't stopped former DC's under him (Muschamp and now Kirby Smart) from getting serious job offers.
Not really, he burned all of his ties in Oklahoma when he left Okie State and took all of Stoops' coordinators. They seriously hate Les Miles' guts at this point
First of all, I hope we do get a new OC. We had a good year, but not much adjusting was necessary. It's obvious Stud doesn't know how to adjust or things might have been different Monday. At any rate, I thought Miles and Stud both said Stud was going to be retained as OC next year. Has something changed other than the whipping we took Monday?
Yeah they really do. I live in Oklahoma and all the OSU fans hate him for how he left, and OU fans hate him for beating their asses.
That might normally be an accurate statement...but I think it's misdirected to be honest... What's obvious is that no adjustments were made. What's NOT obvious is that it was ALL of Studs fault. It's easy to ALWAYS blame the OC because that's his title--but the HC over-rules ALL. Stud was an OC at Bowling Green when they had Omar Jacobs as their QB. Some would say that Omar's skill set should be nearly the same as JJ's. So, one has assume that Stud DOES have experience running an offense with THAT type of QB (i.e. dual threat/read-option). BG isn't a BCS conference program....but it's not I-AA either...
I really just want our offense to find an identity. IMO I believe the most effective style for us would be a pro style offense. We have the lineman, runningbacks and hopefully the quarterback, to run this at its best. No need for a spread offense for our future team. Any OC who can utilize or make our offense the most efficient would great. Standford's offense seems the most ideal to me, so their OC makes sense.
Good points AB, but I go back to my question. Has something changed other than the whipping we took Monday that would make anyone believe that Miles is not going to keep Stud as OC?
