I agree with this statement. Looking at the schedule, I see the Saints 8-2 going into the Atlanta game and 11-3 going into the 2nd game. If the Saints can go 13-3, I think we'll get homefield throughout.
agree w/all of this. would add that Packers deserved to win - they made stops when needed to, and we didn't. having said that, we likely play them again in playoffs, hopefully on field w/better footing, and i think we take them next time (when it really matters). incredible that we were still even in it at the end. thought that pass interference on last play was a gift to the Saints.
predicting already, eh. and after just one game. you truly are a prophet. uh, btw, i agree w/you. i see 13-3 again, too.
This is why the Saints lost last night. We went 1 for 5 and GB batted a thousand. Red Zone offense was our achilles heel last year and looks like it might be again this year. To add to Evans being overpaid, insert Roman, can't guard an OL, Harper. He got abused so bad last night he actually filed rape charges against Rodgers after the game last night. Darren Woodson on ESPN was showing Harper's lowlights last night and was literally laughing at Harper. Our DL was dreadful last night vs. run and pass. Rogers/Franklin/Ellis were getting pushed around all night. Two big free agant signings and they still suck??? Gregg Williams play calls at times is mind boggling. On 3rd and 12 early in the game he calls a full prevent with only 3 DL. That gave GB the first down before they even hiked the ball. Can't give a QB like Rodgers time to sit back there all day. Defense has to improve or this will be a LONG season. Offense was great except for in the red zone. Brees looked like the Brees of '09. Sproles is a freakin spark plug. He's everything Bush wishes he could be. Devery had a great game too. Made some big time catches which was great to see. Meach played well too. Jimmy Graham is gonna be a beast this year. At least I hope he will be cause i have him and brees on one of my fantasy teams. Offense needs to improve in the red zone and the defense needs to improve everything. Let's see what adjustments they make next week against da Bears.
Couldn't get stops when it mattered. NFL is not going to be kind. Got to be a mind altering trip to watch the saints and Tigers take two complete opposite approaches to how to win football games. I see a lot of Manning and Marino in Brees. Neither seems to care even if the running backs are blasting space, it's time to chunk, it's what I do. The defense acts like they do nothing but practice against that stuff every day, struggling with the "spread defense" syndrome.
I see Charles Woodson had two INTs today. I didn't hear about any fines and obviously he wasn't suspended so I guess it's okay to throw a punch at another player. Hopefully someone will knock him silly!
he was fined i believe it was only 10k though. Also Troy P got 15k for a horse collar does that make sense. Also heard today on espn that the officals said they didnt see the punch connect and that was why he wasn't ejected. lol go figure.
Thanks!...I'm glad to see he was fined. The ref had a perfect angle to see the punch. That's why he threw the flag. The lack of an ejection was inexcusable and the ref should be admonished. The NFL officials don't admit mistakes and ALWAYS have an answer when they screw up and/or cheat. :dis:
