I think it's funny the press is repeating what i posted after the game and we both (me and the press) know nothing about basketball. Shouldn't Howard be able to dominate a game like that and win in spite of coaching. He's no shaq.
okay, I'm bored so I'm gonna jump back in here. How many true old school centers are left in the NBA. I'm talking Shaq, Patrick Ewing, Hakeem, David Robinson type players. I don't really consider Dwight one of those but maybe he is. He doesn't play with his back to the goal much does he? Is that a lost art?
Zero It was even done away with as a position in the all star game. That's why I'm here. Im learning. I know he's not but shouldn't he be able to.
The West is deep - as usual - but after LA, SA, Dal,OKC and LAC, there's a pretty big drop off. The Hornets could make a run at the second group, but things will have to hold together. Not many teams seem to have their bad luck with injuries; when the Hornets get hurt, they get hurt in groups. Guys who should be nice 12-15 minute players get forced to play 35, and they are not up to it.
Tyson Chandler and Andrew Bynum are in that mold; back-to-the-basket, control the paint inside 5 feet-types. Not they are at the level of the players you described, but they are all future Hall of Famers too. But Chandler and Bynum, I think, would be considered old-school centers. The game has changed so much that those types are almost extinct.
he should be able to, but he doesnt have the mentality to be as brutal as Shaq and doesnt have the finesse to be Hakeem.
that day is gone. The Bynum is close but he is inconsistent. Hibbert in Indiana is pretty decent with his back to the basket. But blame David Stern for wanting the games to 127 to 117.
