What I find odd is there are still yougens out there that swear by him, however these are also the same youngens that gloat that they voted for the "winner" therefore their vote be not wasted.
Well, the truly sad thing is those young ones that you speak of seem to think this is some sort of popularity contest like American Idol rather than an election. They don't care about who's running the country or how; most of them can't even name the VP, much less any other key figures in the administration. They voted for the guy that they were told was the right guy, rather than thinking for themselves. All the while, not even thinking (caring) that their votes have real-life consequences. It's scary and it will get worse before it gets better. Ya know, I don't care if someone voted for the guy I'm against so long as they did their homework and decided for themselves, rather than just going out and voting for who they're told to vote for by the media, their family, their professors, etc.. I'll quote Rush here, and love him or hate him he has a saying that is spot on that applies to both sides of the fence... "Ignorance is our most expensive commodity."..
Quite a few people of all ages vote like that, and not just lately. And on both sides of the aisle. The electorate may flip congress this cycle and that will be an accomplishment, but they will also have to remain vigilant through the next 2-3 elections and vote them out again and again until politicians realize they are being held accountable. Relying on the inherent nobility of our elected officials doesn't really work out anymore. And being too lazy to take up the job of watchdog ourselves has become the biggest problem.
