It all starts somewhere... like I said, giving up one liberty leads to another and so on. You don't go from A to Z in a day. But yet i'm the lunatic, while there you sit readily giving up freedoms so you can feel a bit safer.

    A) I didn't give up anything. I had no say in the matter.
    B) It doesn't make me feel anything. If there is one feeling in this thread its butthurt from you.

You use freedom too loosely. You will never truly be free. People must be protected and people must be governed. I will let you figure out how civilizations go about completing such tasks.

Lastly, the government doesn't give a shit about your phone calls to your buddies when you talk about fishing, tits and beer. So unless you are up to no good, this is of no concern.

Furthermore, not once in the document you linked does it say the Federal government will control anything. This is clearly designed to to setup a system to "communicate at all times and under all circumstances to carry out its most critical and time sensitive missions"

I will post the 3, yes only 3, sentences in which the word "control" was used.

"The Secretary of Defense shall: (a) oversee the development, testing, implementation, and sustainment of NS/EP communications that are directly responsive to the national security needs of the President, Vice President, and senior national leadership, including: communications with or among the President, Vice President, White House staff, heads of state and government, and Nuclear Command and Control leadership; Continuity of Government communications; and communications among the executive, judicial, and legislative branches to support Enduring Constitutional Government"

Simple reading comprehension here tells me that a system will be developed to better handle communications during a national security event. Nothing states seizure or control.

"The Federal Communications Commission performs such functions as are required by law, including: (a) with respect to all entities licensed or regulated by the Federal Communications Commission: the extension, discontinuance, or reduction of common carrier facilities or services; the control of common carrier rates, charges, practices, and classifications; the construction, authorization, activation, deactivation, or closing of radio stations, services, and facilities; the assignment of radio frequencies to Federal Communications Commission licensees; the investigation of violations of pertinent law; and the assessment of communications service provider emergency needs and resources; and

    (b) supporting the continuous operation and restoration of critical communications systems and services by assisting the Secretary of Homeland Security with infrastructure damage assessment and restoration, and by providing the Secretary of Homeland Security with information collected by the Federal Communications Commission on communications infrastructure, service outages, and restoration, as appropriate."

    "General Agency Responsibilities. All agencies, to the extent consistent with law, shall: (a) determine the scope of their NS/EP communications requirements, and provide information regarding such requirements to the Executive Committee;

    (b) prepare policies, plans, and procedures concerning communications facilities, services, or equipment under their management or operational control to maximize their capability to respond to the NS/EP needs of the Federal Government;"

It's a damn shame this has to be spelled out.

Lastly, in the first damn paragraph, the intentions are VERY clear.

"The views of all levels of government, the private and nonprofit sectors, and the public must inform the development of national security and emergency preparedness (NS/EP) communications policies, programs, and capabilities."

***Side note, the word "seizure" was not used once.

Iremember reading George Orwell's 1984, back in 1983, and laughing. There were no such thing as camera traffic tickets or people being arrested a la' Brandon Lavergne- in part to being seen on surveillance vid. Same with Boston Marathon bombers.

Fwiw, I agree with him in that it is definitely- at the least- another step in the wrong direction. Obama's only doing this to make it be once removed from being criticized for BEING done cause it's been being done. He's only continuing what that idiot Bush started though. I'd like to tie them both up in a burlap sack and toss them in the Rio Grande.

You agree with what exactly? There is no such language that breaches liberty. Did you read it?

I am struggling to find why you post a Wiki article when the "original" link with "original" wording is provided.......

By all means, don't try or anything.

I repeat, not a SINGLE liberty has be taken from you.

go on and answer Pride's question.....which liberties have you lost?

if one lost liberty begets another, then name the one that is going to get the ball rolling.
