Oil is an international commodity. Prices are determined by supply and demand. These are things Presidents can't really control.
Then why were high prices Bush's fault? And you're full of crap anyway. Demand is down by over 2%, the oil per barrel price is down, yet gas prices continue to rise. My last tank up was @ $3.69. Same station today is $3.75.

Nonsense. Oil is a commodity and it works like all commodities. OPEC has discovered that they can't manipulate the prices arbitrarily. When they squelch demand, they lose money and they drop their prices. They also don't trust each other and undercut anyone who tries to price oil high.

Retail gas has tax elements that change from place to place making it not track wholesale prices perfectly, but there is a very real relationship between oil price and gasoline price . . . and everybody WHO BOTHERS TO CHECK knows it.
