But Obamacare doesn't prevent an EE and and ER from working out a compensation package; it just becomes part of the equation.

It will be interesting to see what actually happens. I have an individual family plan that I pay a relatively low amount for but I gotta think within the next ten years, something will have to change. I suspect at some point in the next ten years, I will be operating with a 25k deductible. It will be the only thing that is affordable.

And more on this. I would be much better off in a pool. I am slim and healthy. Sticking a guy like me into a plan with a bunch of old and fat people raises my cost. How is that good for me. My douchey employer is giving insurance to fat people, and I am payign for it.

Right, but the negotiation is retarded by the government regulation which fixes a percentage of the compensation.

With that logic, why not force employers to pay minimums for specific jobs or qualifications. Why not force employers to provide transportation and cafeterias. How about ping pong tables in all break rooms? It would just be part of the equation, right?

Excuse my ignorance but how would this be different in a pool of other people?

Now that's something I could get behind.

I could potentially join a pool with younger, healthier people.

I'd kick your ass in ping pong.

So how does that work, you get to choose your own pool? Or would you go into a pool with people of a similar profile? I never thought this was on the table because it doesn't help older unhealthy people.
